Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Businesses and Residents

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines of the arma.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be from the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

So, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri— simply dial 112— as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

having obtained money, no longer show themselves.
