Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Region Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to their magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, at different times, claim to belong to the finance department, police force, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the true Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by who,

if they had money, would no longer appear.
