Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Region Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering magazine subscriptions from the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or ones that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the legitimate Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
