Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Lake Garda Businesses

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal guards.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

had the amount of money, then disappear.
