Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Local Business Owners

They pretend to be Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines associated with the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to either non-existent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.
