Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Garda Area Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to the army‘s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately inform the Carabinieri— just dial 112— as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
