Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Garda Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda, proposing subscriptions to the armed forces magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance department, police, fire brigade, or municipal village police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
