Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Garda Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to the Arma‘s magazines.

These are not military personnel but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

have obtained money, and then disappear.
