Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Garda Businesses

[They impersonate the Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or local council.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
