Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

So, be careful and immediately alert the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
