Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Hoteliers and Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to the forces’ magazines.

They are not military personnel, but criminals who, from time to time, claim to belong to the financial police, police, fire brigade, or the City police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
