Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Trying to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, on different occasions, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or Municipal guards.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they ask for money, suddenly disappear.
