Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri with Fake Magazine Offers in Garda

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Médio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately inform the real Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
