Scammers Impersonate Law Enforcement in Garda Region

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda region, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance guard, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply call 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by someone who,

has money but no longer shows themselves.
