Scammers Impersonate Police for Fake Magazine Subscriptions in Garda

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant operators in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigade, or local police officers.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after collecting the money, disappear.
