Scammers Impersonate Police for Garda Area Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, proposing subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing the scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to the security forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect being targeted by individuals who,
