Scammers Impersonate Police in Garda Region to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda region, offering subscriptions to the force‘s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, firefighters, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

So, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have fallen prey to individuals who,
