Scammers Impersonate Police in Garda to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the armed forces’ magazines.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by individuals who,
