Scammers Impersonate Police to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who periodically claim to be from the finance police, the police, the fire department, or the Municipal Police.

Recognizing scams

They often suggest subscriptions to fake magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by individuals who, if they have money, no longer reveal themselves.
