Scammers Impersonate Police to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to the arm’s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the regular police, the fire brigade, or the Comune police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately inform the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
