Scammers Impersonate Police to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, at different times, claim to belong to the finance police, police, firefighters, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing the scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately inform the real Carabinieri — simply call 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
