Scammers Impersonate Police to Target Garda Area Businesses

They pretend to be Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not members of the military, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.
