Scammers Impersonate Police to Target Garda Business Owners

They impersonate carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the middle and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, each time, claim to belong to the financial police, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after collecting the money, disappear.
