Scammers Impersonate Police to Target Garda Business Owners

Pretending to be carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the middle and upper Garda area by phone, proposing subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after receiving the money, disappear.
