Scammers Impersonate Police to Target Garda Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda region, proposing magazine subscriptions from the branch.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, each time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often suggest subscriptions to fraudulent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.
