Scammers Impersonate Police to Target Garda Hospitality and Commerce

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately inform the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
