Scammers Impersonate Police to Target Garda Hospitality and Retailers

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to the arm magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
