Scammers Impersonating Carabinieri Target Garda Hoteliers and Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, craftsmen, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering magazine subscriptions from the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance authorities, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have no connection to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be alert and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they have money, do not make themselves visible anymore.
