Scammers Impersonating Law Enforcement Target Garda Hoteliers and Shopkeepers

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to armé magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Comune firefighters.

How to recognize scams

The scammers often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement.
