Scammers Pose as Carabinieri in Garda Area Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not members of the armed forces, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after receiving the money, disappear.
