Scammers Pose as Carabinieri in Garda Area, Warn Authorities

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or municipal officers.

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.
