Scammers Pose as Carabinieri in Garda, Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the arm.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, firefighters, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

if they had money, would no longer appear.
