Scammers Pose as Carabinieri in Garda, Targeting Local Businesses

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with the authorities.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they had money, no longer appear.
