Scammers Pose as Carabinieri in Garda to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to arm magazines.

These are not military personnel but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
