Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They falsely pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines published by the armed forces.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by individuals who,

if they had money, would no longer be visible.
