Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the army‘s magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
