Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not soldiers, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

had money, no longer make their appearance.
