Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not members of the military but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigades, or municipal police force.

Recognizing scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect being targeted by individuals who,

if they are after money, will no longer show themselves.
