Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They break into conversations under the guise of Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to magazines of the carabinieri.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, each time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing the scams

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they have money, tend to disappear without a trace.
