Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pretend to be Carabinieri when calling hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

if they have money, no longer shows themselves.
