Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

Recognizing scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

So, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect that you have been targeted by someone who,

would have money, and then disappears.
