Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to the force’s magazines.

They are not members of the military, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be careful and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

have money and then disappear.
