Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

The suspects pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, at different times, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, remain vigilant and immediately notify the true Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they are after money, no longer appear in person.
