Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the arma magazines.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or the Comune security service.

How to recognize scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri—by dialing 112—at the first sign that you have been targeted by someone who,

if they ask for money, will disappear without a trace.
