Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda region, offering subscriptions to Army magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

Beware of scams and how to react

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be alert and immediately notify the carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by individuals who, after taking the money, disappear.
