Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to the force’s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, firefighters, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

if they had money, would no longer show themselves.
