Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Selling Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the army magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be affiliated with finance, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately alert the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they had any money, would no longer show themselves.
