Scammers Pose as Carabinieri to Target Garda Business Owners

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not members of the military, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri—simply dial 112— as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
