Scammers Pose as Police to Trick Garda Business Owners

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda area, offering subscriptions to the arm magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

So, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – just call 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

if they had money, would no longer show themselves.
