Scammers Pose as Police to Trick Hoteliers and Retailers in Garda Area

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the financial police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.
